Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße is another great drive in Austria. This mountain pass is located in the Obergurgl region near the Austrian and Italian border. It’s another high mountain pass with a peak elevation of 2,509m. This pass is closed in the winter months and during night time. This is another pass which is subject to a toll charge of €16 Euros for cars and €14 Euros for motorcycles for one way travel. The road is completely sealed and in good condition with sufficient width for passing oncoming vehicles. The speed is generous at 80kph with some restrictions in certain areas. The scenery of the pass is spectacular and allows for some great views from the high altitude. There is minor traffic on this pass as it’s a toll road, but it is a popular tourist destination. The road is quite fun with approximately 30 hairpins. A nice pass to drive in Austria.
